Triaxial VSM coilsets are designed and being realized for two different VSMs: (1) MicroSense EZ9 VSM; (2) Quantum Design PPMS VSM insert. Mathematica is used to design the coils and calculate its theoterical sensitivity and cross-talk. For the EZ9 vertical z-coils seem to have the largest sensitivity and can be raised up from the bottom around sample holder and sample. Spools are 3D printed and are positioned over a thin wall brass tube and attached to a optical mechanical stage positioned under the electromagnet that allows for XYZ and three angles to be adjusted. The setup is tested on MFAAM 3D printed magnetic composites, NiFe-oxide and NiFe-hydroxide composites, and Fe-doped Ga2O3 thin film samples.
