The Department of Physics strives to provide an exciting, rigorous educational environment that stresses relevant research, classroom learning, extensive use of peer instruction, and opportunities for work in industrial settings. Graduate students are involved in research as part of their degree plans. We also encourage undergraduates to get involved in research. We have state-of-the-art research facilities, both within the department and shared user laboratories, that provide meaningful experiences for any student who uses them, as well as dedicated faculty who work closely with students. We cordially invite prospective students to visit. Just call the department office to set up an appointment!
