Graduate Program

The Department of History at Texas State offers M.A., and M.Ed. degrees, annually servicing over 80 graduate majors. Our graduate studies program specifically offers students degrees in four broad fields: United States History, World History, European History, and Public History. Students can specialize in a number of areas of study by working with the over thirty full-time, Ph.D.-holding faculty who teach a wide variety of courses spanning the globe in coverage.

The department routinely places students in the top Ph.D. history programs in the country. Our department has emerged as one of the most dynamic public history programs in the nation, placing future leaders in public history nationwide.
