The Center for the Study of the Southwest is proud to offer two biannual journals, Southwestern American Literature and Texas Books in Review.  These journals feature outstanding scholarship in history, fiction, and poetry, and feature work by some of the most renown authors across the region.  The CSSW is also pleased to partner with other regional journals who also highlight the wonders of the Southwest.

Southwestern American Literature

Southwestern American Literature is a biannual scholarly journal that includes literary criticism, fiction, poetry, and book reviews concerning the Greater Southwest.

Since its inception in 1971, the journal has published premier works by and about some of the most significant writers of the region.

Texas Books In Review

Texas Books in Review monitors the literary production of books about Texas, providing rich reviews about contemporary publications of diverse fields and genres.  Published by The Center for the Study of the Southwest at Texas State University, Texas Books in Review has become a staple among western letters.
