Residential Junior Summer Math Camp Application

2024 JSMCR Application

This is the application form for the 2024 JSMC Residential Program from June 2 -14, 2024. This program is for select 6th-8th grade students, and we accept a maximum of 68 students.

The deadline to apply to camp is April 15. However, we do admissions on a rolling basis, and our program often fills up before the application deadline.

You must have the following to submit your application:

  • Essay (Required, 1 page, pdf format, essay topics listed below) Upload your essay with this application. 
  • Transcript or Latest Report Card - (Required) Upload your transcript or latest report card with this application.
  • Teacher Recommendation - (Required) Direct your recommending teacher to this webpage. Your teacher must complete the form and upload a letter. Your application will not be complete until we receive this letter.

Application Essay

Please upload an essay to your application.  Candidates should provide a well-written, one-page essay that includes the following points: 

  1. How did you find out about our program
  2. Where does mathematics fit into your special interests?
  3. Describe any extra activities (math or other) in which you have participated.
  4. Describe your long-term goals and ambitions.
  5. What do you hope to gain from this summer experience?

Financial Aid

​Program cost is $2,000.  This tuition covers room and board, supplies, and field trips). Mathworks offers need-based scholarships thanks to donations from foundations, corporations and alumni.  To be considered for a scholarship, please complete the Financial Aid section and submit your application prior to March 15. 

The information in all the fields below is required to be considered for financial assistance.  If you are not seeking financial assistance, simply put "N/A" in each field.
