About Research Integrity and Compliance

Research Integrity and Compliance (RIC) is committed to the highest standards and quality. On behalf of the Vice President for Research we serve the Texas State research community by ensuring that all research and scholarship is conducted in an ethical and responsible manner.

All research activities at Texas State University are governed by a number of regulatory and compliance committees mandated by federal and state laws. Non-compliance can not only result in harsh penalties to the University, but also to the individual researcher.

It is the responsibility of all Texas State University faculty, researchers, staff, and students to be familiar with institutional policy as it relates to those areas of research requiring compliance with government regulations. It is the goal of RIC to foster an environment of compliance and provide effective support and training for Texas State researchers in the regulatory requirements for the conduct of scientific research. The RIC also supports the research community in promoting the Responsible Conduct of Research.
