Simply put, Research Integrity & Compliance provides subject matter expertise related to research compliance. Our mission is to serve the Texas State research community on behalf of the Associate Vice President for Research — we are tasked with ensuring that Texas State research and scholarship is conducted in an ethical and responsible manner, following applicable government regulations, sponsor requirements, and University policies and procedures.
What research compliance "looks like" may vary from day to day — we communicate and consult, assess and analyze, educate and administrate, create and facilitate — in service to researchers, scholars, and University administration.
We are responsible for oversight and management of the Institutional Review Board, the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, and the Institutional Biosafety Committee. We administrate processes and procedures related to these review committees, as well as export controls, researcher conflicts of interests, and research data management and security.
