The Center for the Study of the Southwest (CSSW), announces the availability of a Research Assistant position to serve as Editorial Fellow at the Center, renewable based on evaluation of first year’s work. The Editorial Fellow will assist the CSSW staff in production of Texas Books in Review (TBR), Southwestern American Literature (SAL), Journal of Texas Music History, and Sound Historian. Related duties include text and graphics layout and copyediting on all journals, and book review support and mail-out supervision on TBR and SAL, with other duties as assigned.
The position is open to anyone holding a Bachelor’s and working on a Master’s degree at Texas State. Preference will be given to candidates demonstrating an interest in Southwestern Studies, showing proof of strong writing and editing skills, and having background experience in marketing and/or photojournalism. Knowledge of layout design and editing experience working with InDesign and Photoshop in the Apple OS environment is preferred but not required.
The Fellowship consists of an RA position (nine-month appointment at $9,855) plus a tuition scholarship of $1,500 per semester. For details on working as a Graduate Assistant at Texas State University visit the Graduate College.
