University College Student Employee Excellence in Service Award
Nomination and Selection Criteria
All current University College student employees are eligible for nomination for the Student Employee Excellence in Service Award. It is an annual award, and any student who has worked for University College within the award year may be nominated. Only one award will be issued each year, and the recipient will receive a trophy as well as a $100 gift card to the University Bookstore.
Between September 1 and June 15, University College employees (faculty, staff, students) may nominate any student worker employed by the college for the Student Employee Excellence in Service Award. Only nominations received by the June 15 deadline (or the next working day if June 15 falls on a weekend) will be considered for the service award.
The dean will name and convene by June 30 a Selection Committee to consider all nominees and select a recipient for the award. The Selection Committee will include at least one member from University College faculty and at least one member of management (supervisor, assistant/associate director, director).
Using a 1 to 5 scoring system, the Selection Committee will rank each nominee based on the following categories: reliability, quality of work, initiative, professionalism, and uniqueness of contribution. The nominee with the highest-ranking score will be the recipient of the Student Employee Excellence in Service Award. In the event of a tie, the dean will make the final selection.
The recipient of the award will be announced during the University College Graduation and Awards Reception that is held prior to the August commencement ceremony.
In the space below, please provide examples of the nominee's reliability, quality of work, initiative, professionalism, and uniqueness of contribution.
