Juan Soto

Juan Soto, originally from San Antonio, has proudly called the DFW area his home since 2010. After an honorable service in the US Army, including deployments to South Korea and Fort Hood (Fort Cavazos), Juan has passionately dedicated his career to supporting veterans. Currently based at Texas State University's Round Rock campus, Juan plays a pivotal role in the newest addition to the Texas State TRIO family - Veterans Upward Bound. He holds a Master's degree in Communication from UT Arlington. During his academic journey, Juan also found time to coach the university's adaptive sports program, the Movin Mavs. This experience ignited his fervent commitment to helping veterans engage in adaptive sports, enriching their lives through physical activity and camaraderie. Beyond his professional pursuits, Juan finds immense joy in spending quality time with his beloved wife and daughter. He's a hands-on enthusiast when it comes to tackling projects in his garage and is an aficionado of Texas BBQ, savoring every flavorful bite. With boundless enthusiasm and dedication, Juan is poised to transform the Veterans Upward Bound program into a cornerstone of support for Central Texas veterans. His passion for serving the veteran community is as unwavering as his love for the Lone Star State.
