Ramin Sabbagh Wins Outstanding Master’s Thesis Award

Ramin Sabbagh wins the 2018–2019 Graduate College Outstanding Master’s Thesis Award in the Mathematics, Physical Sciences, and Engineering category. His thesis, “Semantic Text Analytics Technique for Classification of Manufacturing Suppliers“, was directed by Dr. Farhad Ameri, Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering Technology. Ramin is currently a Ph.D. student in the Mechanical Engineering Department at University of Texas at Austin. This is the first time in the history of the Department of Engineering Technology that a graduate student in the Technology Management program has received such a prestigious award.


The Outstanding Master’s Thesis award is in alignment with the Conference of Southern Graduate School’s (CSGS) regional competition. By winning this award, Ramin has earn the chance to win additional funding and to attend the organization’s annual conference.

CSM Competition Team Wins Student Chapter of the Year!!

Congratulations on this outstanding achievement!


The Construction Science and Management Competition Team wins Student Chapter of the Year in the ABC National Convention held in Long Beach, CA on March 26-28, 2019. 


We were the finalists with Colorado State University and Louisiana State University and we WON! We are the best student chapter in the USA! As a result, we won $2,000 and a trip for two CSA members to travel Washington DC for the legislative week.


Our team worked very hard beyond their academic, professional and personal commitments. We are so proud for all their dedication and commitment.

It is with great pleasure that we announce that the Construction Science and Management Competition Team finished 1st place in the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) Region V, Commercial Division Competition held in Dallas on February 23-25, 2019.  They competed against other major universities, including the University of Oklahoma, Texas A & M, and Texas Tech.  Special congratulations to Mr. John Resendez for receiving the “Best Presenter” for the second time and serving in the capacity of “Lead Superintendent” during the competition.
