Thank you for your interest in using the Student Learning Assistance Center (SLAC) services!
Currently, all Texas State students have access to the services provided by SLAC. These include the SLAC Learning Lab, Supplemental Instruction, and a number of online services. Note that some of these services are only available when visiting the San Marcos campus.
The following services are available on the Round Rock campus or online:
If you need help with writing your paper or another document, see our Writing Help page, where you can submit your papers online for review or just ask a question about writing.
If you need help with other subjects, try our Subject Area Help page, where you can find information on multiple subjects.
If you are interested in attending law school, schedule a phone appointment or a one-to-one appointment (on the San Marcos campus) with a Prelaw advisor. Start here and fill out the Prelaw Intake Form to schedule an appointment.
SLAC and the Department of Psychology are partnering to provide a remote tutoring opportunity for students enrolled in PSY 2301 (Introduction to Statistics) during the Fall 2019 semester at the Round Rock campus. This effort is designed to connect Round Rock students with tutors at the San Marcos campus. For more information stop by Avery 206. To request an appointment, complete the online form.
VASC – RR
The Veteran Academic Success Center at Round Rock (VASC-RR) is a collaborative effort between the university and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to offer military-connected students* resources and a peer support program (Guides & Tutors) that provide transitional assistance, information about VA education benefits, social support, and academic services to support success.
The VASC-RR office is located in Avery 206. There, a VASC Guide can refer you to on- and off-campus resources, benefits, and provide other guidance as needed.
See the VASC-RR webpage for more information
Check out the Veteran Academic Success Center website for more resources.
