Spotlight on New Translational Health Researchers at Texas State:
Dr. Manusheela Pokhatel
It isn't too surprising to learn Dr. Manusheela Pokhatel takes an interdisciplinary approach to health research. With a B.A in Nursing, an M.A. in Health Promotion, and a Ph.D. in Health Communication, Dr. Pokharel's own interdisciplinary background helped prepare her for a career in clinical research with real world relevance. Dr Pokhatel joined the Texas State faculty this fall after completing her PhD at the University of Utah, where she served as a project manager in a health communication and technology lab. Her research focuses on visual imagery and data visualizations that can be used as persuasive tools to reduce cancer risk behaviors. Read more about Dr. Pokhatel’s research program.
