Impact of Covid 19 on Federal Awards
Texas State University Research Community,
The Council on Governmental Relations (COGR) has convened a workgroup to develop a FAQ document on questions regarding the impact of the COVID-19 virus on Federal awards. The topics and questions range from travel, salary charges, impact to federal contracts, and animal care during a potential extended closure.
Consistent with the Uniform Guidance which oversees administrative requirements, cost principles and audit requirements for federal awards many of the specific determinations are predicated on related institutional policies.
Texas State University has posted the COGR document on the Office of Research and Sponsored Program’s website and will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates through the ORSP website as they become available. Please follow the University’s official posted guidance or consult your supervisor for Texas State’s policies and procedures for responding to the COVID-19 situation.
NOTE: The information provided by COGR has not been endorsed by federal awarding agencies and represents COGR’s best assessment of an evolving situation based on already established policies and regulations. As further guidance becomes available from federal agencies COGR will update this document and keep the membership informed accordingly. Nothing in the document is intended to supplant any institutional policy or federal, state, and local law, regulations, or guidance, and institutions are strongly encouraged to communicate with their agency program officers and grant officers as issues arise.
