Official deadlines for Fall admissions are June 1st for international applicants & June 15th for U.S. citizens or for Spring admission are October 1st for international applicants & October 15th for U.S. citizen however this program has a flexible deadline and will continue to accept applications beyond these dates for consideration with no guarantee for acceptance.
English proficiency exams (TOEFL or IELTS) are required of all applicant’s whose native language is not English or if the applicant is not eligible for an automatic waiver. You must have a 78 or higher overall score on the TOEFL or score a 6.5 overall with no individual module score less than 6.0 on the IELTS. Limited number of Graduate Instructional Assistants (GIA) positions are available upon request for eligible applicants. To be eligible for GIA position the student must be unconditionally accepted to the graduate program and enrolled in at least 9 graduate level hours for the Fall and Spring terms. This assistantship pays $1,384.95/month, prior to standard deductions such as taxes, and requires up to 20 hours of work per week.
The assistantship will be granted for 9 calendar months. Continuation of this assistantship is contingent on teaching and academic performance and will be evaluated at the end of each semester.
Note that many of those opportunities are program-specific and won't apply to you. You should consider applying for the Celebrity Classic and Graduate College Scholarships when you submit your application for admission. The Physics program does not require a GRE for admission however if applicants have below a 3.0 GPA on junior & senior level physics courses and have a GRE with a preferred score of 302 or higher, they may be considered for conditional admission.
