Undergraduate Programs

Major in Philosophy - Philosophy nurtures skills of thinking and communicating well.  The major in Philosophy is excellent preparation for advanced study in any field, for careers in business or the professions, and for anyone interested in careful consideration of the challenges and opportunities we face as individuals and communities. 

Minor in Philosophy - The minor in Philosophy provides an education that enriches and empowers students by cultivating practices of thoughtful engagement with our ways of thinking and acting.

Major in Religious Studies - The BA degree with a major in Religious Studies emphasizes the study of religion using the methods of the humanities and social sciences, and prepares students for advanced study in the humanities and social sciences (including Religious Studies) and for jobs in cultural and human services, education, and chaplaincies.

Minor in Religious Studies - Recommended for students considering graduate study in Religious Studies, or in related disciplines in which the study of religion plays an important role.  Also valuable for students interested in a better understanding of the important role religion and religious belief play in the world.

Minor in Medical Humanities - The Minor in Medical Humanities examines the human dimensions of health and illness and is ideal for i) any student who wishes to gain a deeper understanding of health and disease, and ii) any student who aspires to enter any career in medicine. This minor will be especially helpful for students preparing for the MCAT. 

Minor in Value Studies - Recommended for students considering graduate work in Philosophy, and for students interested in how questions of value are relevant in contemporary life.
