Student IP Contributions

US law defines inventorship. The same policies and regulations apply to students as to other university inventors.

Students are required to report inventions and other IP to the TTC. If there are any questions please contact us and speak to your supervising professor.

The University MAY require you to assign IP under the following circumstances:

• If the work made use of university resources.
• If the work was created as a part of university employment.
• If the work was produced with funding from third parties such as contracts, grants, etc.
• If the work was the result of a class project, assignment or progress toward your degree program.
