Internship Experiences

Elijah Miller - Alhambra-U.S. Chamber

The Chamber promotes academic and commercial partnerships across the globe with the ultimate goal of fostering closer relations between the U.S. and emerging markets. As an NGO with a proven record of business creation, management, and execution, The Chamber serves as a catalyst and force-multiplier for its clients and members, leveraging the collective experience, skills, and contacts of its world-class leadership team and advisors to develop and strengthen global partnerships. While interning with Alhambra-U.S. Chamber, I was able to bring my passion for the promotion of international human rights and general welfare in communities that lack visibility. This internship opportunity allowed for personal and professional growth.

Jessie Tang - Freeleaf

Freeleaf is a social enterprise creating handknotted home decor and jewelry products while providing dignfiied employment and holsitic care to women who were once abused, exploited, or at-risk. My role as their wholesale and development intern involves contacting potential wholesale customers, managing social media platforms, researching for grants and certifications, selling products in pop up markets, packing and shipping orders, assisting with photoshoot, and so on. The three months I spent working at Freeleaf was a blessing, because I had the opportunity to learn about the international aspects of a small business and how the staff operate and communicate as a team to achieve set goals and maintain efficiency. I have met and connected with some amazing people who share a common passion of helping other women in need, which makes me feel hopeful about the future of humanity.
