Focus of Symposium and Call for Presentation Proposals
The HPN Spring Symposium brings together Texas State students, faculty, staff and community members to meet and share information, ideas, and best practices that support and serve the Hispanic and Latinx communities in higher education. The Symposium focuses on the innovative spirit of our cultures and its contributions to our community, society and the world at large. The Symposium will give us a space to honor past contributions, celebrate present accomplishments and to discuss building a better future together.
Call for Proposals
Faculty, staff and students are invited to submit presentation proposals. Whether you have a research study, an initiative, or personal experiences to share with the Texas State community, we want to hear from you!
What We are Looking For
Perspectives from all disciplines and experiences are welcome. Talks or presentation from the scientific community, higher education professionals, and students are all valuable to our event. Motivational talks that aim to inspire and develop our community are especially encouraged.
Presentation and Poster Format
Presentations will be scheduled in 50-minute blocks.
The poster presentation will be held during lunch. Any discipline, major or field of study is welcomed.
Awards made for:
Best Undergraduate Poster - $200
Best Graduate Poster - $400
Best Faculty Poster - $700
Best Overall - $200
Poster must not exceed 4’ x 5’.
Presenter must attend Symposium on Friday, April 17 during judging.
Deadline to apply is Monday, April 6, 2020.
Workshop / Presentation
Interactive session aimed to develop a particular skill or knowledge in a specific area.
Posters are to be set up by 11:00 AM and removed by 3:30 PM.
Presentations or posters that may be deemed offensive to any culture will not be accepted.
