Honors College BLM Book Club for Students

BLM Book Club

Registration for the Fall 2020 session for How to be an Antiracist is now CLOSED. Please check this page for further details regarding our Spring 2021 session.

The Honors College recognizes the necessity for anti-racist initiatives, programming, and discussions. We invite our students to join us for our Black Lives Matter Book Club, led by Mariana Adame (graduate student studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling), Dr. Louie Dean Valencia-García (Laurel Honors Faculty in Residence), and Tafia Bulgin (Honors College Student Coordinator). We will dive into How to Be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi and hope to provide a space that fosters safety, rich discussion, curiosity, honesty, and vulnerability. Book Club Schedule: The book club will meet virtually every Wednesday from 11:00a to 12:00p for 6 sessions. The book club will begin on Wednesday, October 7th, 2020.

A digital copy of the book is on file with the TXST Alkek Library for those participants who do not wish to purchase their own copy.
