Teaching:
I hold multiple certifications in online teaching and pedagogy. My courses are wholly online, and asynchronous. I have developed engaging and proven methods for student participation and success.  I provide regular and substantive student-instructor interaction through announcements, messages, feedback, and, when necessary, synchronous methods.

My focus is on inclusivity and diversity. My courses examine multiple perspectives, and encourage students to think critically about many different aspects of US History. I teach US History as a transnational history, emphasizing mobility and migration, and valuing the many different origins and cultures that continue to form our present and future culture, institutions, and experiences.

Research:
I am currently working on a monograph that biographizes a woman from a small town in South Dakota. A lifelong self-proclaimed religious pacifist, she became involved with the Puerto Rican independence movement in New York at mid-century, and wound up incarcerated on the island, charged with participating in armed revolution. I have also researched, written, and published works on music history.
