The meeting was called to order by Chair Bible at 4:00.

ACADEMIC COMPUTING COMMITTEE REPORT

Prof. Carol Hazelwood presented the Academic Computing Committee
report on applications for computer grants. Twenty-six proposals were
received and 14 were approved. Discussion centered around the appropriate-
ness of a grant for projects which could and perhaps should be funded by
Computer Services. The issue was tabled until further information could
be obtained.

SEXUAL HARASSMENT (Drs. Abbott & Chahin)

Drs. Abbott and Chahin discussed SWT's approach to harassment
complaints and proposed amendments to the applicable UPPS. The Senate had
questions about the selection of panel members to hear cases. As amended,
Section 07.03 will now provide that "Selection of the panel will attempt to
reflect the constituent groups of the complainant and the alleged harasser.
The panel of six will be comprised of two faculty, two staff and two students.
The panel will be appointed by the President in consultation with Faculty
Senate and the respective VP."

The Senate voted to endorse the proposed amendments to the UPPS.

GRIEVANCE COMMITTEE

The Senate voted to ask Prof. Judy Allen (Applied Arts & Tech.) to
replace Prof. Marguerite Gillis on the faculty Grievance Committee. Prof.
Gillis resigned from that committee after being elected as a Senator to
replace the late Prof. Bill Bechtol.

PRESIDENTIAL AWARD FOR TEACHING EXCELLENCE COMMITTEE

Dr. Grant Simpson will replace Dr. Bill Bechtol on the Presidential
Award for Teaching Excellence Committee.

The minutes of 2/25 were approved.
