Keynote Address
"Promoting Sanity in Insane Times"
Contemporary counselors are tasked with promoting wellness in extremely challenging times. The current sociopolitical climate in the U.S. is often characterized by intolerance and fear -- this negatively impacts the mental health and well-being of clients and service providers alike. The keynote address will review the challenges professional counselors face within this climate and provide insight on how to work from a multicultural and social justice perspective in helping clients cope with pressing societal issues.
