Postdoctoral Research Associate Position in Texas State University, San Marcos, TX

A Postdoctoral Research Associate Position is available to work on the biochemistry of DNA damage repair and replication in the laboratory of Dr. Xiaoyu Xue in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Texas State University, San Marcos, TX.

Dr. Xue’s research interest lies in the mechanisms of DNA/RNA motor proteins in genome maintenance and cancer avoidance (Xue et al., Mol Cell 2014; Xue et al., Genes Dev 2015; Xue et al., Genes & Dev 2016; Zhao*, Xue*, Longerich* et al., Nature Comm 2014). In Texas State University, the Xue laboratory will continue to investigate how DNA/RNA motor proteins enable precise DNA repair to avoid cell transformation and tumorigenesis. Dr. Xue has obtained important preliminary data on two human helicases (unpublished data) and established a strong foundation for mechanistic studies in his own laboratory. This position offers excellent opportunity for individuals to develop multi-disciplinary skills for future career development. The applicant should have obtained PhD in biological science (biochemistry preferred) with a good publication record. Prior experience in protein biochemistry, DNA repair is a plus.

Interested candidates are invited to send a cover letter stating research goals and experiences, CV and contact information of three references to: xiaoyu.xue@txstate.edu with postdoc position in the subject line.
