I’m a multi-disciplinary art director and designer. My professional career began in industrial design with a focus on soft goods like luggage, footwear, and accessories. I’ve been fortunate to work in-house for brands like Puma, The North Face, Samsonite, and JanSport specializing in color, materials, and trend. I ventured out on my own afterwards under the moniker MEKEBA (my middle name is Kevin - see what I did there? 😏️). My freelance work was primarily dedicated to working on brand design for various non-profit organizations like The Black Lives Matter Global Network, bklyn boihood, the #metoo mvmt, and Three Point Strategies(among others).
Currently, my professional work consists of art direction, design, and management for the health and wellness website, Greatist.com. My personal work is centered around exploring various parts of my identity; often by “resurfacing” the incredible work of the Black, Queer, and/or Trans elders and ancestors that have come before me. I enjoy using tools like graphic design, curation, and photography to create multi-media experiences.
My dog Rocko and I call Atlanta, Georgia home.
