Fire Station Studios, built in 1906 and named for its original use, houses the Texas State Sound Recording Technology Program. Texas State is the only university in the Southwest to offer a bachelor’s degree in the field.

The multipurpose recording facility and television/film sound stage houses analog and digital 24-track recorders, a large automated console, CD mastering gear and professional microphones and outboard devices used for student and commercial work.
