The Chemistry Building houses the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Researchers in this department are using materials science to help develop automobile tires that never need to be refilled with air, food-packaging materials that don’t pollute the environment, and bulletproof windshields for Cobra helicopters flown by U.S. soldiers in Iraq.
