Below are several grants available for undergraduate research at Texas State. This is by no means an exhaustive list. It is also a good idea to ask your academic college and department if they provide funding for research and/or travel to conferences.
The Student Undergraduate Research Fund is supported by several university and non-university entities, this fund has been created to inspire and support independent undergraduate research by Texas State Students.
Students interested in applying for research funding from S.U.R.F. must email a proposal in PDF format to Professor John Hood at email@example.com. Please see the Application Resources page for more details.
There are three more S.U.R.F. deadlines for this semester: February 25, March 25, and April 25 (by 11:59 P.M.). Students may submit proposals on either of these deadlines.
More information about S.U.R.F. can be found here.
The Rising Scholarly Travel Activity and Research (S.T.A.R.) Grant program has been established by the Associated Student Government (ASG) to promote and enhance the efforts undertaken by the colleges and departments to send students to programs, conferences and activities of a scholarly nature. We have bench marked the number of students participating in this kind of activity and at the end of 2013 wish, with the help of the S.T.A.R. grant, to see a sizable increase in the number of students participating.
See the the Rising S.T.A.R. Travel Grant main site for additional information and details.
