About University College

University College, formerly known as the College of General Studies, was established in 1983. The College was created to provide an academic home for the advising of undecided majors and to provide an administrative structure for coordination and oversight of the University’s General Education curriculum. In 2012 the focus of University College became the Personalized Academic and Career Exploration (PACE) Center, which provides academic advising, career exploration, and mentoring programs for freshmen students. In addition to the PACE Center, University College includes the University College Advising Center (UCAC), the University Seminar program, the Athletic Academic Center, the Texas Success Initiative Program (TSIP), and the Bachelor of General Studies degree.
