Meeting convened at 4:04 p.m. 

Motion:

R. Brown asks for a motion to approve the minutes from 7.21.08.  C. McCall so moves.  M. Blanda seconds the motion.  The 7.21.08 minutes are approved as prepared. 

Waiting on learning outcomes to be posted for Biology.  Closing the 2007-2008 learning outcome assessment on Aug. 18 so electronic approval needs to be completed prior to Aug. 18.  We can accept the learning outcomes as presented at this point and make recommendations for the next cycle which should be posted for 2008-2009 at the end of Sept. 

Motion:

S. Beebe makes a motion to accept the learning outcomes and results as presented with the exception of Biology.  The Council will send recommendations for changes of suggested improvements before the fall semester to the departments.  C. McCall seconds the motion. 

Reviewed the learning outcomes and results with exception of Biology and provisionally accepted and will send recommendation for changes and suggested improvements.  Request more feedback before next meeting.

Amended Motion:

V. Luizzi makes an amended motion to acknowledge receipt of learning outcomes and results and then send suggestions to R. Brown by Aug. 18 to send out to departments before the fall semester

Motion passed unanimously.

Fall meeting schedule:  2nd and 4th Mondays from 3:30-5 in Sept., Oct., Nov., Feb., March and April
