Meeting convened at 3:36 p.m. 

Motion:

R. Brown asks for a motion to approve the minutes from 6.16.08.  C. McCall so moves.  W. Stone seconds the motion.  The 6.16.08 minutes are approved as prepared. 

Assessment
-Grades in course (some used during first assessment)
-Change way from grades to items from tests
-Indicate items (targeting the goal)
-Communicate
-Too many outcomes and methods and at multi-levels
-Broad/general goals
-Art—no action plan
-Need continuous improvement 

Model
-Common test items (from final exam)
-Embedded questions that address outcome
-Meeting expectation—refining—other objectives
-Higher level skills—demonstrating and writing 

English
-New method in fall 

What the students learn and how it relates to the course and what is accomplished 

Motion:

R. Brown and a representative from the GEC ask for authorization to meet with departments and convey what needs to change and give ideas of the model.  W. Stone so moves.  M. Keeffe seconds the motion. 

Motion passed unanimously.
