Meeting convened at 3:31 p.m.
Motion:
R. Brown asks for a motion to approve the minutes from 1.14.08. C. McCall so moves. T. Hindson seconds the motion. The 1.14.08 minutes are approved as prepared.
Motion:
R. Brown asked for approval of the Draft letter to Chairs regarding the subcommittee’s feedback for the draft outcomes.
Motion passed unanimously.
Motion:
R. Brown asked for approval of a pen and ink change to PPS 1.12 for a change in quorum from 11 to 10.
T. Hindson makes a motion to change the quorum from 11 to 9. M. Johnson seconds the motion.
Motion passed unanimously.
REVIEW Components
-Dave Nelson reviewed and formatted the components into a similar style and suggested changes. Handout was passed out.
-Recommendation to pattern the components alike then update method of assessment and add learning outcomes
-Coordinating Board statement at the beginning or end? General Education is defined at Texas State by faculty (meet state law).
-Should learning outcomes be incorporated?
-Define what we mean by assessment—levels of evaluations
-Why reintroducing perspectives to components
Review changed components and give a recommendation on what has been changed and what needs changing:
