Meeting convened at 3:32 p.m. 
-Method that competencies are mastered in each department and learning outcomes
-Competencies:  Reading, Writing, Oral Communication, Math, Computer/Information Technology, Critical Thinking and Ethics
-Competencies already in departments:  Capstones with established rubrics 

General Education—SACS is looking for ideas and skills reinforced throughout their education
-Is testing of transfer students viable?  

-Writing Intensive in many departments
-PPS 4.01—changes to requirements for WI 

-Assessment of graduating seniors—maybe pilot the interviews with 8-10 students in spring 

-Sarah will create binders for all GEC members that contains the components, component tables, 2007-2008 learning outcomes and results and 2008-2008 learning outcomes 

-Add charts of what is being done—more visuals 

---Find out from your departments what courses have Capstones and send that information to R. Brown 

-Work on learning outcomes to competencies statement 

--Encourage your chairs and deans to be helpful and as quick as possible for this process 

-View other schools:  James Madison; UT Dallas and 3rd version from Tech at level 3
