
Since 1999, requests for additions to or deletions from the General Education core curriculum go to the General Education Council. The Council reviews proposals and makes recommendations to the dean of university college. The dean reviews and forwards the Council’s recommendations and dean’s recommendations to the provost and vice president for academic affairs. In the role as the chief academic officer the provost and vice president for academic affairs reviews the recommendations and reports the final decisions to the university community and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
