I am providing the following information so researchers will know what to expect and what is expected of them when using individual consultation services.
Assistance I can provide
The purpose of individual consultation is to assist and teach you so that you will be able to complete your research on your own. I would like to meet with faculty at the beginning of their projects if at all possible. Below is a list of the kinds of assistance that can be provided:
Assistance I cannot provide
Individual consultation cannot be provided to students or non Texas State University faculty. Graduate students working with a faculty member on a research project that is not a student research project (e.g., dissertation, thesis) may attend the session with the faculty member.
How to schedule an appointment
Individual consultation is by appointment only. Each session is scheduled for one hour. I am currently able to spend four to six hours on any project. I strongly suggest that you attend one or more of our training seminars if you do not have data analysis experience before scheduling individual consultation. You may schedule an appointment by emailing Gail Ryser. Please provide the following information: availability, department, rank, and email address. All appointments are held in Lower Commons 100. Please contact TREC immediately if you need to cancel an appointment so someone can take advantage of that time period.
