Welcome to Academic Testing for Students with Disabilities (ATSD)

Effective Friday, November 6, 2015 TREC and ATSD will be located in Nueces 247 until further notice. Our hours remain the same.

ATSD administers academic tests with approved testing accommodations to students who are registered with the Office of Disability Services (ODS) at Texas State University.  Texas State has designated ATSD as the official office to provide testing accommodations for students with disabilities. Our facility offers students enhanced accessibility for course exams and quizzes by providing a reduced distraction testing environment and accessible technology options. 
If a student with approved testing accommodations wishes to test in ATSD, then the student has the right to test in ATSD, even in cases where instructors offer to provide accommodations outside of ATSD.

ATSD Testing System

The ATSD Testing System is an on-line system for: students to request to take an academic test; faculty members to review the request and upload the required test; and proctors to review their work schedule.

Important Dates

Spring 2016 Schedule:

January 19th  (Tuesday) - 1st day of classes
March 14th  - March 18th (Monday - Friday) - Spring Break
April 25th -  (Monday) - Last day to submit a request for a final exam
April 28th (Thursday) - Last day to submit a request for a regular exam
May 2nd (Monday) - Last day of classes
May 3rd (Tuesday) - Reading Day
May 5th - May 11th - Final exams are administered at ATSD, excluding the weekend

***May 4th (Wednesday) - Final exams will only be administered at ATSD for courses with the following class meeting times: MW 5PM, W 5PM, MW 6:30PM, & W 6:30PM. If you are enrolled in one of these courses, please contact ATSD.

Hours and Contact Information

Monday, Thursday and Friday – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Tuesday, Wednesday – 8:00 am to 8:00 pm
Special hours during finals – 7:00 am to 7:00 pm (with ALL final exams ending at 6:45PM)
Reduced hours when classes are not in session – 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

Key Points to Remember

  • All cell phones must be turned OFF and stored in a locker. If a cell phone is seen in a testing room it is considered a violation of the Texas State Honor Code.
  • We check each student’s photo id. If a student does not have a photo id they will not be allowed to test.
  • No food or drink in the testing areas, unless it is bottled water. (Exceptions are made for medical reasons and reviewed case by case.)
  • 48 Hour Rule: An on-line request must be submitted at least 48 hours before each test or quiz is scheduled to begin. (This does not include weekends or holidays.)
  • 10 Minute Late Rule: Any student arriving more than 10 minutes after they are scheduled to start a test, will be unable to take the test at that time.
