TREC currently offers three tests to meet both math placement needs and the Texas Success Initiative (TSI): Accuplacer, Compass, and QuickTHEA.
The Accuplacer and Compass are computer-administered tests. The fee to take either of these is $30, and will produce immediate scores (although in very rare instances, an immediate score will not be available for the essay).
The QuickTHEA is a paper-and-pencil test. There are two payments needed to take the QuickTHEA: $30 paid to Texas State University; and then $29 paid to Evaluation Systems by check, money order, MasterCard, or Visa. Scores for the QuickTHEA will usually be received within 7-10 business days.
