The Department of Technology at Texas State University-San
Marcos prides itself in preparing students for technical and professional
careers in industry. This pride stems not only from recognized quality
of the programs offered but also from the success we have had in placing
our students in excellent entry level positions in industry. Our department
has been particularly interested in technical and professional training
since 1984 and over the past years our faculty have honed their skills
with regard to accomplishing this mission. Starting salaries for graduates
generally fall in the mid $20,000 to upper $30,000 range. Review and
advancement is generally dependent on company policy, the nature of
the company itself and the specific qualifications of the graduate.
