| Up-to-date software programs
are a vital part of the curriculum. Students learn image design
and manipulation with programs including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop,
PageMill and PageMaker, as well as, multimedia programs including
Adobe Premier.

| The printing technology laboratory facilities
have specialized equipment, which allows students to learn the printing
production system. From inception of an idea through delivery of
the printed product, Texas State graduates show that technical knowledge
coupled with hands-on experience make them an asset to any visual
communication related firm.

| Networked computers allow faster file sharing and decreased output
time. Numerous output devices are available for student projects.
Several printers are available, such as a dye-sublimation color, photo
quality ink jet color; 1200 dpi black and white, and 600 dpi black
and white laser. |

Digital and Photographic Imaging students have access to state-of-the-art
computer laboratory facilities. Computer systems such as Macintosh
G-3 and G-4 and IBM are available for student use. The computer lab
is equipped with twenty-one (21) Macintosh computers, an Agfa high
resolution flatbed scanner, a Hewlitt-Packard scanner, two digital
cameras, and a JVC video camera.
