A 1959 graduate of Southwest Texas, Leon Westfall, has become a key contributor to the agricultural leadership of central Texas. He began his career working as the County Executive Director in Lee County in 1961, but before that, Westfall was a three-year letterman on the Bobcat football team from 1956-59.

In addition to his football background, Westfall was part of many SWT activities, including Future Farmers of America, the “T” Association and intramural basketball. Since graduation, he has continued to play an intragural part in the Bobcat Athletic Foundation and “T” Association.

Westfall joined the ranks of the U.S. Army in 1959 and was a National Guard member from 1959-65. In his professional life, he is recognized as an expert in farm program administration and has received the State Award for service to agriculture and community service in 1980.
