This year, Karen Fredenburg joins current Southwest Texas volleyball coach Karen Chisum, as the only women to be inducted into the “T” Association Hall of Honor.

From 1976-78, Fredenburg served as the woman’s athletic coordinator in addition to her duties as track and volleyball coach. She received both her Bachelor’s (1969) and her Master’s degree (1970) from SWT.

She was a four-year letterman for the Bobcats in both basketball and track. Off the court, Fredenburg was multi-talented, as she garnered campus social and organizational awards. In 1969 alone (along with her basketball and track responsibilities), she was SWT Homecoming Queen, head cheerleader, Chi Omega Sorority President, a member of the Dean’s List and recipient of the Sally Berretta Award – given ,the senior female with proven qualities and ability.
