For the last 48 years, Franklyn Bless has been a major contributor to SWT athletic programs. In 1947, Bless joined the ranks of the Bobcat Club after lettering in football. He remained active in the Bobcat Club until 1982. However, Bless rejoined the organization 12 years ago and continues to give annually.

While at SWT, Bless was a member of the Agricultural Club and was a Gaillardians escort in 1949.

He is currently the vice president of sales at Capitol Cement and serves as the vice president of the Subcontracts Association. Bless is also the general manager of the Featherlite Company in San Antonio. In 1959, he was the mayor of Universal City.
