HELP
MAKE THE "T" ASSOCIATION A LIVING LEGACY
With
the emergence of our football program and steady success of our other
sports, we have seen a renewed interest in our “T” Association
events. Our annual events continue to grow, and our number of participating
members continues to increase.
All
“T” Association events are financially supported through
our endowment. The annual interest earned from this $100,000 endowment
(roughly $5,000 per year) is the main revenue source of the “T”
Association. These monies, including yearly donations from the Strahan
Foundation, are the only funds available to run our events, grow our
organization, keep our letter winners active, and give back to Bobcat
Athletics.
With
your assistance, we believe that the “T” Association can
grow into one of the strongest, most involved and active groups on campus.
An increase in our operating budget will allow us to continue to improve
our yearly events, make visible contributions to our athletic department,
maintain correspondence with our athletic alumni and continue to offer
opportunities to remain involved with Bobcat Athletics.
We
would like to encourage our Athletic Alumni to consider a financial
donation in return for several additional benefits. Your donation will
go directly to the “T” Association operating account, and
will be used for the general operation and preservation of the “T”
Association.
Several current projects are also being worked
on, along with future projects that we would like to develop. Before
the start of the Fall ‘08 athletic year, plans have been made
to contnue to enhance the Bill Miller room at Bobcat Stadium. Thanks
in part to two football letterwinners, Mike Bailiff and Greg Jones,
we hope to have a brand new ceiling in the room next season, along with
new blinds to replace the old sets. We hope the new ceiling will be
completed with new canned recess lighting and a new sheetrock ceiling
to replace the old ceiling tiles. The project has gone to bid with local
contractors and we are still waiting on the final cost estimates.
Future projects that were discussed as a board, include finding a place
within our facilities to give proper recognition to all of our Bobcat
All-Americans. Our goal is to contact Museum Services out of Houston
to get information on an All-American area somewhere in Strahan Coliseum.
Museum Services is the same company who contracted the Texas A&M
Letterman’s area in College Station. We also hope to add in the
future a video interactive Hall of Honor Kiosk for the Coliseum or the
End Zone Complex. We will also look to find public trophy case displays
that highlight teams not currently featured including men’s and
women’s golf, soccer,softball, baseball, and men’s and women’s
tennis.
Any
donation to the “T” Association is greatly appreciated;
however, all athletic alumni who donate $50 or more will receive the
following:
•
One “T” Association membership card good for 50% off all
season tickets and individual game tickets for ALL regular season Bobcat
Athletic events.
• $1 tickets will no longer be offered to “T” Association
members.
• Recognition on our “T” Association website as a
donor to the “T” Association.
All
gifts will be reported to our University Development Foundation to ensure
proper giving credit.
