Colvin, an offensive tackle, completed a spectacular collegiate football career in 1973. As a Bobcat, Colvin captured a number of athletic awards and honors. In 1971, he was named All-Lone Star Conference Honorable Mention. In 1973, Colvin finished his career as an All-Lone Star Conference Second Team selection, J.C. Kellam Outstanding Senior Football Player, and was selected to the SWT All-Decade team of the 70’s. In 1974, Colvin was selected in the 13th round of the NFL Draft, by the New York Jets. He decided to go north to play in the Canadian Football League for the British Columbia Lions, and then for the Calgary Stampeders.

After his football days were done, Colvin began work as a Sales Representative for the Houston Beverage District. More than 13 years later, Colvin, after stops in Kansas City, Denver, Cincinnati, and St. Louis, would return to Houston, where he works today as a District Sales Manager for Houston Beverage.
