Antiques, Arts & Collectibles Club

The Antiques, Arts and Collectibles Club

The AAC Club met Friday May 20 at the River House in San Marcos. It was an interesting meeting.

Ideas were discussed on re-purposing or re-use of old things not needed for use in their current form. Darlene discussed creating items with a collection of old yardsticks she has been saving for years. The latest in re-use of old bottles is in the form of bottle yard art…colorful old bottles placed on forms…and put in your garden. Certainly very drought tolerant!  Marlene brought in a mirror she had decorated mosaic style using broken pieces from porcelain cups and saucers. Do you have any other ideas?

It was suggested Ebay and Craigs List be a subject for a club meeting. Bring your laptop and learn how to sell on Ebay and Craigs List. If interested please contact Marlene at ms41@txstate.edu

And, would you like to help with a fund raiser for RFSA? Let’s discuss a garage sale of member donated items?  If interested please contact Marlene at ms41@txstate.edu

Darlene Schmidt brought a wonderful mystery item. Can you guess what it is? Post your guess in the "comments" section on the FaceBook page www.facebook.com/txstate.rfsa . Winner and prize to be announced next week.

The Antiques, Arts, and Collectables Club is open to all RFSA members.  Not a member? Information can be found on the RFSA website.

Next meeting will be in September.
