step1

  • What is your idea? What is it that you want to do or accomplish?
  • Have you written it down in an abstract?
  • Have you asked colleagues to review for viability?

step2

  • Have you asked your dean and chair if this is an activity they would support?

step3

  •  Finding Funding
    • There are several sources to check for funding. We suggest beginning with Research Development (Evy Gonzales). They can be reached at 245-2314 and at research@txstate.edu.

step4

  • Now that funding has been identified, we begin building our proposal based on that the requirements are as stated by the sponsor. This is where your proposal coordinator can assist. Please notify them via the Proposal Notification Form found here: https://www.osp.txstate.edu/ospforms/pnf/notification.php

step5

  •  As we build the proposal, certain information is commonly asked for. This information can be found on the OSP Fact Sheet. This form contains several sections such as : About Texas State, DUNS number, CAGE number, certain salary rates, average fringe benefit rates, indirect cost rates, ect. If the information you need is not available, Please contact your proposal coordinator in OSP for assistance.
