ADMINISTRATIVE MEMORANDUM
Date: July 27, 2007
To: Faculty and Staff
From: Dr. Bill Covington, Associate Vice President for Research
Subject: Grant Application Management System (GAMS) Implementation
The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) has completed the configuration process of our new electronic proposal management system, GAMS. Currently, OSP and certain departmental personnel are testing the attributes of the program.
Logon IDs and Passwords
To utilize the software system, you must have a user ID and password. For consistency, GAMS will be using your universal campus ID. Passwords will be assigned during your training classes.
Training Classes
Training materials are being developed. All colleges, schools, and centers will be contacted for appropriate training time(s) and location(s). In addition to the training sessions held in each college, school, department and center; OSP will be conducting additional general training sessions to be held in Alkek and JCK during the fall and spring semesters. Anyone is welcome to attend the general sessions but seating will be limited to the first 20 registrants.
The schedule for implementation and training for the campus is as follows and is based on a phased-in approach:
Month College(s), School(s), Center(s)
September: Liberal Arts, Stock Center, Center for Families and Children
October: Science, IEIS
November: Education, Engineering, River Systems
December/January: Applied Arts
February: Health Professions
