The IRB is will begin accepting Spring Semester IRB applications, continuation/change requests, and requests for exemptions January 14, 2013. Applications will be accepted for review until April 26, 2013.
Applications are reviewed in the order received. The time required for review and approval of an average IRB application, carefully prepared in accordance with the recommended guidelines, submitted by an applicant who has completed the required training in the protection of human subjects, is approximately 3 weeks, but may take longer.
Please note that in all cases, it is in your best interest to submit applications as far in advance as possible. If your graduation is dependent on research that requires an IRB approval during the current session, ideally your application should be submitted at the beginning of the semester, and no later than one month prior to the start date of your research.
