Workshops Specific to The Office of Sponsored Programs
Phyllis McBride, Assistant Director of Proposal Development, Texas A&M at College Station, will be presenting a full-day workshop (The Craft of Grant Writing) on Friday, February 1, 2008, in Alkek 105-106.
Other Workshops:
The Research Enhancement Program, presented by Mike Blanda (typically in September)
The Fulbright Program, presented by Steve Wilson, English, (typically in November)
The College of Science typically sponsors, in the fall, one or two day-long seminars which include presentations by successful “grant-getters” on campus. Contact Carolyn Pate or Dana Garcia
The Joann Cole Mitte Faculty Grant for Excellence, presented by Mike Blanda, (typically in April)
The NSF CAREER Program, presented by Carolyn Pate and Dana Garcia. These workshops typically take place in the spring semester and through June. First is a presentation on CAREER in general, followed by working sessions.
The Office of Academic Development and Assessment, Beth Wuest, and the Office of Proposal Development, Carolyn Pate typically sponsor, in the spring, a day-long workshop on proposal writing, followed by working sessions.
Carolyn Pate through the Office of Professional Development, presents an overview of the process of finding funding and preparing a grant proposal, typically in the spring and fall.
A brochure called "Center for Excellence: Programs for Spring (or Fall)" is usually mailed to faculty in campus mail at the first of the fall and spring semesters and lists programs provided through the Office of Institutional Effectiveness. The brochure includes information on workshops/seminars offered through the Office of Academic Development and Assessment (Beth West) and the Office of Professional Development (Marsha Moore).
