Export Control

Export Control Forms

OSP will document all correspondence, communications and decisions involved in review of a project for the applicability of export control regulations. As part of the documentation process, the principal investigator may be required to sign forms, certifications, technology control plans, and/or other relevant documentation. Original signatures will be required and the principal investigator will be responsible for making sure any signed documents are returned to OSP. Failure to do so will delay OSP processing of contracts, proposals, and account set-up.

If it has been determined a Technology Control Plan (TCP) is required, each project subject to export controls must have a TCP in place that outlines the procedures to be taken to handle and safeguard the Export-Controlled Information. It is the responsibility of the Project Director(PD)/ Principal Investigator (PI) to develop a written TCP which must be approved and signed by Bill Covington, Associate Vice President for Research/Director, Federal Relations.

The PD/PI must ensure each person working on the project has read and understands the Briefing on the Handling of Export Controlled Information and has read and understands the TCP.

Project personnel must sign the Certification on the Handling of Export-Controlled Information before they can begin work on the project.

Principal Investigators working on projects that involve export-controlled information will be required to sign an Export-Controlled Information Certification for each such project. The downloadable Certification Form provided here is for information purposes only. The PI will receive a Certification Form from OSP that contains specific information about the PI’s export-controlled project.  After signing the certification, the PI should return the original, signed copy to OSP

Some forms on this site are encoded in Portable Document Format (PDF). To view PDF files you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader software, which is a free download.
