Contracts

FAQ

1. Q: How long does the process take?

A: That depends on the type of agreement and whether the terms must be negotiated. Allow at least 2 weeks for a contract to move from its initial stages through university signature. It can and often does take longer.

2. Q: I have a contract in process but I need to begin now. What do I do?

A: Never begin work without a signed contract in place. If you absolutely must begin prior to final signature, contact the Contract and IP specialist in OSP. She will evaluate your contract for risk and make a recommendation to the Director of OSP. You will need a back up account. The back up account will be charged any expenses incurred should the contract not be signed. As long as the agreement is not a high risk and you have the back up, we can establish an account.
